Erik Haener represents clients in criminal defense, family law, and bankruptcy matters throughout northwest Georgia. Before joining The Heller Law Firm, he practiced at a large regional law firm handling complex, high-stakes litigation and completed an internship with the Fraud Division of the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
He has quickly built a reputation as one of the region’s leading attorneys. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor reserved for 2.5% of attorneys in the state under 40 years old or practicing less than 10 years. Erik has also been named to Georgia Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, an honor determined exclusively through voting by fellow Georgia attorneys.
Erik earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. A lifelong leader, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, demonstrating the dedication, integrity, and commitment to service that continue to guide his work on behalf of clients today.

Erik is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys photography, DIY projects, and spending time with his girlfriend and their two dogs.
